The original four founding members of the Eagles were Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon, Don Henley, and Glenn Frey. Later members included Don Felder, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit. Following Frey’s death in 2016, his son Deacon Frey began touring with band members Henley, Walsh, and Schmit, and Vince Gill joined for vocals.

Frey was the co-lead singer and frontman for the Eagles, roles he came to share with fellow member Don Henley, with whom he wrote most of the Eagles' material.
