Kyūshū (九州, Kyūshū, pronounced [kʲɯꜜːɕɯː] ⓘ, lit. 'Nine Provinces') is the third-largest island of Japan's four main islands and the most southerly of the four largest islands (i.e. excluding Okinawa).
