It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the American football team of the University of Toledo Rockets. It is located on the school's Bancroft campus, just south of the banks of the Ottawa River.

Jun 22, 2015 · The Glass Bowl Dedication Game was played on Dec. 7, 1946 as a post-season game vs. previously undefeated Bates College. Toledo won the game, 21-12. Three more post-season "Glass Bowl Games" followed in 1947-49. Seating capacity was increased to 12,800 in 1949, and to 15,900 in 1966.

The Glass Bowl is a great place to catch a college football game. The University of Toledo has done a fantastic job of merging the old with the new. The Glass Bowl has a north-south orientation with a horseshoe seating area, opening at the north end. All seating is aluminium benches with the band and students sitting in the south end.
Endzone Seating. The majority of endzone seating at the Glass Bowl is reserved for the Toledo student fans. Student seating in sections 11-18 is free for students with a UT student ID.
