Here more than 80 percent of the floats that journey down New Orleans' streets during the Carnival season are designed and built. Begun in 1947 by float designer and builder Blaine Kern, Mardi Gras World provides visitors with the opportunity to don authentic Mardi Gras costumes and tour enormous warehouses filled with floats.

Jul 31, 2020 · The streetcar is one of New Orleans’ oldest forms of transportation, and is a great way to tour New Orleans when you’re done touring Mardi Gras World. Just hop on a streetcar for a small fee and ride it to the Hilton Riverside Hotel. You can arrange for the shuttle to pick you up right there. It’s a great way to check two special New Orleans experiences off your list!
New Orleans is currently in Phase II of our reopening with most hotels, restaurants and attractions open with extensive Covid-19 safety measures in place. While we expect to celebrate Mardi Gras in 2021 and are making plans as usual, chances are won’t have a definitive answer from the Mayor's office before early fall.
