    Reilly Liam Sheeran Smith is a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger and alternate captain for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League. Smith was drafted in the third round, 69th overall, by the Dallas Stars in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, and has also played with the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers in his NHL career. Smith faced his brother Brendan in the Eastern Conference Quarter-finals of the 2014 playoffs when his Bruins faced Brendan's Detroit Red Wings; the Bruins ultimately won the series four games to one.

    Riley Henry Smith was an American football player, a quarterback for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League during the late 1930s. He played college football for the University of Alabama, where he was recognized as a consensus All-American. After his NFL career ended, he became a coach.

    Born in Carrollton, Mississippi, Smith played high school football for Greenwood High School, then moved to Columbus and played at Columbus High School.

    Smith attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where he played quarterback for the Crimson Tide. He was a passer and runner, but could also block, punt, kick extra points, and boot field goals. He was part of the 1934 team that won the Rose Bowl, was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American in 1935, and also won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the best blocker in the Southeastern Conference. Smith played in the East-West Shrine Game and the College All-Star Game.

    Smith was the second player chosen in the first-ever 1936 NFL Draft. In 1936 and 1937 he missed only three minutes in 26 Redskins games, but an injury ended his playing career early.

    After retirement as a player, Smith became an assistant coach at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where he was the backfield coach in 1939 in 1940, then succeeded Warren E. Tilson as head coach in 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant commander from 1942 to 1945 and then became a real estate developer in Mobile, Alabama.

    Jonathan Simon Christopher Riley-Smith GCStJ FRHistS was a historian of the Crusades, and, between 1994 and 2005, Dixie Professor of Ecclesiastical History at Cambridge. He was a Fellow of Emmanuel College, Cambridge.

    Riley-Smith was the eldest of four children born into a prosperous Yorkshire brewing family. His maternal grandfather was the British Conservative Party MP, John Craik-Henderson. He attended Eton College and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he took his BA, MA, PhD, and LittD.

    Riley-Smith taught at the University of St Andrews, Queens' College, Cambridge, Royal Holloway College, London as well as at Emmanuel. His many respected publications on the origins of the crusading movement and the motivations of the first crusaders have deeply influenced current historiography of the crusades. He was appointed a Knight of Grace and Devotion of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and a Bailiff Grand Cross of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem.

    Riley-Smith was a convert to Catholicism. He married Louise Field, a portrait artist, in 1968. Their three children include the singer/songwriter Polly Paulusma. Jonathan Riley-Smith died on 13 September 2016.

    In an appreciative obituary, a senior colleague described Riley-Smith as "quite simply the leading historian of the crusades anywhere in the world".
