The Dinaric Alps (/ d ɪ ˈ n ær ɪ k /), also Dinarides, are a mountain range in Southern and Southcentral Europe, separating the continental Balkan Peninsula from the Adriatic Sea. They stretch from Italy in the northwest through Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and Kosovo to Albania in the southeast.

Mar 31, 2023 · Located in northern Albania in the Prokletjie, just south east of Maja Jezerce, lies Maja Grykat e Hapeta. It stands at 2,567m above sea-level and is one of the highest mountains in the Dinaric Alps.
Generally speaking, the range lies between the Pannonian Plain, Julian Alps, Adriatic Sea, Albanian Alps, and the Šar or Sharri Mountain. The Dinarides run in a northwest to southeast direction and they are about 500–700 km (310–434 mi) long and 50–200 km (51–124 mi) wide.
Type of rock. Sedimentary. Close. The Dinaric Alps extend for approximately 645 kilometres (401 mi) along the western Balkan Peninsula from the Julian Alps of the northeast Italy, downwards to the Šar and Korab massif, where their direction changes.
