Peresild became well known after playing supporting roles in In the Fog (2012) directed by Sergei Loznitsa, and she played the role of Soviet Sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko in the 2015 biographical war film Battle for Sevastopol.

She vows to “kill 100 enemies”, hugging her rifle, and upbraids a fellow sniper for firing a shot to finish off a Nazi dying in agony. “They don’t deserve an easy death,” she says.
Known to her enemies as “Lady Death,” Lyudmila Pavlichenko is recognized as the most successful female sniper in history with a total of 309 confirmed kills.
