Snafu has the gen info right too: 1st gen - alphanumeric serial with no letter suffix. 2nd gen - a/n serial with A suffix. 3rd gen - a/n serial with B suffix. 4th gen - no markings. 5th gen - SKU and size *.

I have a pair of the JB serial number Juliets that I bought in college (which was at the time an exorbitant and irrational indulgence) probably in 2000 or '01. I'm curious if there's a way to find out when specifically they were made. I know they came out in 1999, but was that the only year Oakley made them, or did they make them for a while?
