He was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas by his parents Diane and Sandy Besser. Matt’s father was Jewish, whereas his mother was Christian. He is an atheist. Matt is a quarter German and a quarter French from his mother’s side. His grandfather’s cousin was Joe Besser of The Three Stooges.
Matt is married to his beautiful wife actress-comedian Danielle Schneider. The couple held their wedding in 2008. Together, they welcomed their daughter Sidney Dianeon July 29, 2013. Matt and Danielle appeared alongside each other on the sitcom Community.
