- Lee Richardson Zoo. Garden City boasts the largest zoo in Western Kansas, open all year and set on 50 acres in Finnup Park. The zoo dates back to the 1920s and is named for former Chief of Police Lee Richardson (1884-1851), who founded this attraction by bringing in a pair of skunks.
