Jun 4, 2022 · Mineola’s rich and colorful history brings the past and present together. The Algonquin Indians who gave this vast plain its name first inhabited Mineola. Two of the remaining evidences of the Indians presence here are their old paths which we now call, “Jericho Turnpike,” and, “Old Country Road.”
Jan 18, 2024 · Today, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that the Village of Mineola will receive $4.5 million in funding as a Long Island region winner of the NY Forward program. The NY Forward program was implemented to support development and implementation of a revitalization plan in community downtowns.
