Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒɑ̃ syʁ ʁiʃ(ə)ljø]) is a city in eastern Montérégie in the Canadian province of Quebec, about 40 kilometres (25 mi) southeast of Montreal, located roughly halfway between Montreal and the Canada–United States border with the state of Vermont.

    • Walk along a canal. The Chambly Canal is a National Historic site that runs along the Richelieu River for nearly 20 kilometres. The canal opened in 1843 and was used as a trading route between Canada and the United States.
    • Visit a fort. Well three to be exact; all of which were built on the very same site within the Chambly Canal National Historic Site. The first Fort Sainte Thérèse was constructed in 1665, the second in 1747 and the third in 1760.
