The dagger has a polished, 8 6/8-inch, spear point blade etched with the script Ernst Roehm inscription and the Carl Eickhorn/Soligen trademark on the reverse side. The obverse of the blade is etched with the SS motto: "Meine Ehre heibt Treue" (My Honor is Loyalty) in gothic letters.
