Originally established in 1898 as a trolley park, Midway State Park is one of the oldest continually operating amusement parks in the nation. The first owners of the park constructed playing fields, tennis courts, bath houses and a dance hall to entice customers to ride the trolley on weekends.

The park will open at 11 a.m. and all rides and attractions will be open until 10 p.m. with fireworks set for 10:10 p.m. A DJ is planned to play music from noon to 8 p.m. with other events taking place throughout the day.
