Blind interest groups in Arkansas fiercely lobbied legislators and Governor Bill Clinton to create a state agency for the blind, separate from the Department of Human Services (DHS). This reorganization was highly controversial and caused conflict within the blind community.
World Services for the Blind (WSB) is a comprehensive rehabilitation center for the adult blind and visually impaired located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Along with life skills, the center specializes in vocational training programs, enabling clients to work and live independently.
