The year is 2043 and the world has been devastated by a horrific plague. James Cole is recruited by Katarina Jones to partake in Project Splinter, a highly experimental time travel program. Jones intends for Cole to travel back in time and prevent the plague from happening. Throughout Cole's journeys through time, he encounters a woman named Cassan...
Towards the end of the season, things get a little twisted - as would happen with time travel - so to keep down confusion, we'll only focus on what's important. So here it goes... Cassie's estranged boyfriend, Aaron, basically rats Cole out to Olivia and The Army of the 12 so that he and Cassie can be spared from the virus.
