The El Greco Museum (Spanish: Museo del Greco [1]) is a single-artist museum in Toledo, Spain, devoted to the work and life of El Greco (Domenikos Theotokopoulos, 1541–1614), who spent much of his life in Toledo, having been born in Fodele, Crete.

This museum has an extensive collection of paintings by this artist of the Spanish Golden Age. Opened in 1910, the museum is located in Toledo's Jewish Quarter. It consists of two buildings: a 16th-century house with a courtyard, and an extension dating from the early 20th century.
- Burial of the Count of Orgaz, Santo Tomé Church. This is El Greco’s most famous painting and the one he loved best. It’s a massive painting stands over 15 feet tall.
- Assumption of the Virgin, Santa Cruz Museum. This altarpiece was finished one year before the artist’s death. It’s the grand culmination of his career.
- St. Veronica Holding the Veil, Sant Cruz Museum. The Veil of Veronica is a Christian relic associated with the story of Saint Veronica and her act of compassion towards Jesus during his journey to the crucifixion.
- Agony in the Garden, Toledo Museum. Agony in the Garden is another of El Greco’s emotionally charged religious scenes. Christ is shown praying in a garden outside Jerusalem.
Mar 23, 2024 · This intimate house-museum is the only one in the world dedicated to the famous Greek artist El Greco. It’s set in a beautiful 14th century Spanish mansion, lovingly restored by the second Marquis de la Vega-Inclán. He was a big supporter of Spanish art and helped revive the artist’s reputation.
Visit. Part of the work of El Greco is inside, of which a magnificent “apostolate”, the “Vista y plano de Toledo” and “Las lágrimas de San Pedro” stand out. The museum is completed with pictures of Luis Tristán, Murillo, Valdés Leal and other artists.
