Before the Douglas fight there hadn’t really been a viable way to stop him or really slow him down. Obviously, given what we know now, Tyson is not the goat and had some holes in his game, apart from his lack of discipline once Cus passed away, but I’m asking how people felt during the prime of his career.

He boxed sluggishly from the opening bell and seemed tired by the third round. Excellent performance from Buster, yes, but not nearly enough to assume he'd be one of the greatest of all time had he maintained that momentum.
Buster Douglas was down on the canvas 13 seconds against Mike Tyson. I just timed it at approx 13.6 seconds. I timed at as soon as Douglas was flat on the canvas. There was definitely some ref "home" cooking going on here......unless Youtube's time video time is off. Its crazy the Butterfly Effect it had on boxing.
