The Auditor is the county's Chief Assessor. It is the duty of the Auditor to see that every parcel of land and the buildings thereon are fairly and uniformly appraised and assessed for tax purposes. The Auditor's Real Estate Division maintains information on more than 160,000 parcels in Butler County.
The Auditor is responsible for establishing values for every property in the county. As required by Ohio law, a reappraisal is completed every six years, with a triennial update of property values at the three-year midpoint.
