McKenna is known to daytime television audiences for his portrayal of Joey Buchanan on ABC 's daytime soap opera One Life to Live from 1990 to 1993. [1] McKenna is also known for playing the lead role in the grim 2003 film King of the Ants, a role which earned him critical acclaim.
After making small appearances in independent films, McKenna made the transition to television at the age of 12, on the daytime series, One Life to Live (1968). While on this show, he had the distinction of portraying Joey Buchanan, the best friend to daytime drama's first gay teen, played by Ryan Phillippe .
