Mar 6, 2024 · The last official Continental flight was CO flight 1267 departing from Phoenix at 11:59 p.m. on March 2, 2012 and landing in Cleveland at 5:46 a.m. on March 3, ultimately completing the merger. Today, United continues to be one of the major three legacy airlines in the U.S.

Aug 28, 2023 · In a nod towards Continental, it was agreed that Continental's gold globe logo would replace United's colorful tulip logo on all the new airline's aircraft tails. So the bottom line is that the two airlines merged to save money and grow into what is today the world's third-largest airline by fleet size behind American Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
