Apr 9, 2019 · By 1948, Schaper realized the potential of his creations. Adapting the rules of an existing game to his unique insect creations, Schaper invented The Game of Cootie. In 1949, he founded the W.H. Schaper Mfg. Co., Inc. (later named Schaper Toys) to manufacture and distribute Cootie. Initially, Schaper hand-carved each game himself.
Players build their bug piece by piece, and the first one to create a complete bug wins! This Cootie game includes colorful plastic bug bodies, heads, and other parts for creating crazy critters. Kids can get creative while mixing and matching the pieces to make their bugs.
