D.C. Fontana (25 March 1939 – 2 December 2019; age 80) was a writer and script editor who had the distinction of being one of the few people to have worked on Star Trek: The Original Series, as well as Star Trek: The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
After Star Trek she produced Star Trek: The Animated Series as well as writing scripts for Star Trek: The Next Generation and other science fiction shows such as The Six Million Dollar Man and Babylon 5.
Fontana also worked on STAR TREK: Deep Space Nine, penning the teleplay of "Dax". Ms. Ms. Fontana later provided the scripts for three Babylon 5 episodes: "The War Prayer" , "Legacies" , and "A Distant Star" .
