Faith Prince (born August 6, 1957) is an American actress and vocalist best known for her work in musical theater on Broadway. She garnered three Tony nominations and won the Tony Award for Best Actress in Guys and Dolls in 1992.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, Prince grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she completed her high school education at E.C. Glass. She then went on to study drama at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. In 1989, she made her Broadway debut in Jerome Robbins' Broadway as the Gypsy character Tessie Tura. She next played a part in the disastrous Nick & Nora.
Her performance as Miss Adelaide in the 1992 production of Guys and Dolls cemented her career as a Broadway star, earning her the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Actress in a Musical. Prince's 2001 Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations came from her performance as Ella Peterson in the Bells Are Ringing revival. She got Tony and Drama Desk nominations for her role in the Broadway musical A Catered Affair in 2008.
She replaced Heidi Blickenstaff as Ursula in the Broadway production of The Little Mermaid on April 7, 2009. Prince appears with her cabaret act at a number of locations, including the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Westchester County, New York, in May 2010, and the Orange County Performing Arts Center in California, in April 2010.
