As an attacker, Greninja is all about poking enemies while slowing them down with your attacks. Greninja can use its moves to depart efficiently or shadow enemies trying to withdraw. Take into account using Greninja's basic attacks in the more immediate vicinity can inflict much more damage on enemies with lower remaining HP. Being in melee range can have you at a serious disadvantage due to Greninja's low base HP. See the options for Greninja's moves here. Descriptions are based on how they are presented in the game.

Fighting at a distance is best for Greninja, and being able to pursue speedy enemies through its mobility. Increasing Greninja's attack damage, basic attack speed, and critical hit rates/damage are ideal in being the heroic presence your team requires.
The following two builds are recommended builds by Pokemon Unite. Moves are not included in these suggestions.

Builds are based on the prime players using the Pokemon and their most dominant builds. These will change and be suitable to accommodate considerably as new items are added with the meta shifting. Keep a notice on them if you are studying distinct build ideas to add to your game plan.
You can inspect these "master" builds by opening the left menu in the main menu > selecting Battle Prep > Held Items > Give Items > Press "Y" for Example Sets. Moves are not included in the recommendations.
•Greninja's Unite Move does not provide a shield until hopping off the large shuriken. Using it to protect yourself in initial activation like other Unite Moves does not work well. Waterburst Shuriken is easy to whiff on damaging enemies, so adapt to either pursuing/escaping after the jump-off of the large shuriken.
•Smokescreen along with Eject Button is perfect for sneaking up on enemies to pick off solo enemy Pokemon. Water Shurikens heals, so try your best to land all of them providing you more time to earn experience from Wild Pokemon without having to resort to going back to base often.
•Using Greninja's boosted attack near enemy Pokemon can help in taking them down as long as their remaining HP is low enough. Sometimes it can be better to dive in up close for the finishing blow.
•Throwing Water Shurikens, while kiting away from enemies will heal you, slow down your chasers, and grant movement speed. Due to these enduring tactics, Greninja can then turn on enemy stalkers to give you the tide in prompting retaliation.
