Grings was a complete striker. She was adept at holding up the ball, an accomplished dribbler, two-footed and good in the air, qualities that made her unpredictable for defenders and virtually impossible to keep in check for the entire 90 minutes. Given her phenomenal goalscoring record, her total of 96 international caps may seem rather modest.
