The Banff one goes up to the top of a small peak and there are boardwalks to walk on to enjoy the view. The Jasper one goes most of the way up a peak, but if you want 360 degree views, you have to walk up the rest of the way yourself. It's about 1 km, with about 200m elevation gain.
