Judd motions for a new trial, on the grounds that the man's previous attorney did not provide an adequate defense.
Fri, Nov 1, 1968. A young woman begs Judd to defend her friend, an escapee from a prison farm, who claims he will be killed if he is sent back there. The man claims to have killed a convict/trustee who tried to stop his escape. But when Judd asks about this at the farm, the officials deny the man was ever killed.
