The Julia Morgan House, also known as Goethe House, is a Mediterranean Revival mansion, located in the Elmhurst neighborhood of Sacramento, California, constructed by Julia Morgan, the first woman licensed to practice architecture in California.
Sep 8, 2016 · The jewel of Sacramento’s T Street is a 1920s-era Mediterranean Revival mansion designed by Julia Morgan, California’s most celebrated female architect. She was the first – and, to date, only – woman to receive the American Institute of Architects’ highest honor, the Gold Medal.
From 1922 to 1925, Julia Morgan was enlisted to design a nursing home to house elderly women in San Francisco. Today the building is home to Heritage on the Marina , San Francisco’s premier Life Plan Community.
