  1. User Reviews. The western film Kit Carson, an independent release from United Artists in 1940 presents a rousing action filled portrayal of one of the greatest of American frontier characters. But the real Kit Carson was so much more interesting that it's almost a shame that this one is his screen epitaph.

  4. Review by Alex V ★★½. This is nearly a really good western adventure, the story of a trapper and his cohorts hired to hike a wagon train across dangerous 'Indian' country to California. Carson is a fount of homespun wisdom and suspicious of authority, and clashes with the soldiers on the trail.
