In November 1968, Columbia Island in DC was renamed Lady Bird Johnson Park, in honor of her campaign as First Lady to beautify the capital. In 1969, President Nixon dedicated 300 acres of redwood trees in Redwood National Park as the Lady Bird Johnson Grove.
