Mai Song is the mother of Tam and Linh Song, who are twins, to her disappointment. Her middle name is unknown. She is the wife of Quan Song. She is first seen in Lodestar, when she attends Exillium training with Quan in the Ambi Hemisphere. Her name, Mai, means blossom of the apricot tree.
Mai Song is shown in Lodestar and Nightfall, stating that she wants to start over with the twins and wanted them back in her life, feeling sorry for her cruelty to them beforehand and being somewhat soft, but detached.
Quan and Mai Song is the romantic pairing of Quan Song and Mai Song. They have been married for over 16 years with two children, Linh and Tam Song. Quan is very loving towards Mai. He seems to value her far above his own children, overreacting to a terrible extent because of it.
In KOTLC, Mai Song isn't really introduced yet and nobody knows her ability. I think that's really strange. Glimmer also defended Tam during their last showdown with the Neverseen, freeing him from the white glowing bonds.
So are the abilities of the very noble Mai and Quan Song. So is Marella’s mom’s (who married a Guster). And I guess you can say that there was just no moment to mention them before Unlocked.

Linh Hai Song is the daughter of Quan and Mai Song, and the twin sister of Tam Song. She is on the cover of Nightfall. She and Sophie met while at Exillium. She had been banished for causing so many floods, due to her ability as a Hydrokinetic, and earned the name 'Girl of Many Floods'.
