Martha Hyer. Actress: The Sons of Katie Elder. Martha Hyer was born on August 10, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas. Once she finished her formal schooling, Martha played a bit role in 1946's The Locket (1946). Slowly, Martha began picking up roles with more and more substance.
Hyer made her final appearance on the screen in 1971 in “The Day of the Wolves”. At the age of 50, she retired from acting career and moved to Paris. In 1951, Hyer met producer Ray Stahl during the filming of “Oriental Evil”, and they both fell in love with each other.
