Nov 2, 2007 · I own a Neil Jones .22 rimfire thickness guage. I allows me to sort the cartridges into lots by rim thickness. This, in turn, gives each lot better grouping. Works on all .22 rimfire cartridges, from BB cap to WMR. This is THE only way I know to address the "head space problems" of .22 rimfire ammo. Eric.
Oct 19, 2008 · I have a Neil Jones gauge and use it with all my cheap ammo, 'cause I can sort while watching TV. Use a multi compartment box to sort the sizes into. With a .22, variances can come from rim thickness, consistency of ignition, amount of powder, and bullet shape.
