    Paul Lawrence Smith (June 24, 1936 – April 25, 2012) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, singer and comedian. He portrayed Bluto in the 1980 Popeye film. He is also known for playing Glossu Rabban in the 1984 science fiction film Dune.

    On April 25, 2012, Smith died in his home in Ra'anana, Israel, aged 75. The cause of death is unconfirmed.
