Perhaps one of Southwest Michigan's most popular beaches, Silver Beach County Park stretches 2,450 feet from the mouth of the St. Joseph River to Park Street. And it's walkable from downtown St. Joseph!
They rake the sand everyday and there are lifeguards on duty (after 11am). Plenty of sand and swim area. It costs $12 to park nearby if you're not a resident. However, there is plenty of free parking a little further away from the beach if you get there early enough.
