Apr 25, 2024 · Smith, an avid sailor, succumbed to a rare form of Leukemia before he was 30. Family and friends began a memorial sail boat regatta in his honor. Since then, event organizer Andrea Schwendinger Bennett said a very impressive amount of money has been raised for the American Cancer Society.
