Susan M. Collins (born 1959/1960) is an American economist who has served as the 14th president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston since July 1, 2022. She is the first African American woman and first woman of color to lead any of the 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks.
Susan M. Collins is president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, one of 12 regional reserve banks in the Federal Reserve System, the U.S. central bank. In this role, Collins participates on the Federal Open Market Committee, the monetary policymaking body of the United States.
Dr. Collins is provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Michigan. She joined the Michigan faculty in 2007, serving as the Joan and Sanford Weill dean of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy until 2017.
