Oct 15, 2022 · Saint of the Day for October 15. (March 28, 1515 – October 4, 1582) Saint Teresa of Avila’s Story. Teresa lived in an age of exploration as well as political, social, and religious upheaval. It was the 16th century, a time of turmoil and reform.
The readjustment made it necessary to drop ten days, so that October 5 was counted as October 15, and this latter date became Teresa's feast day. She was buried at Alva; three years later, following the decree of a. provincial chapter of Reformed Carmelites, the body was secretly removed to Avila.
