Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were an American rock band formed in Gainesville, Florida, in 1976. The band originally comprised lead singer and rhythm guitarist Tom Petty , lead guitarist Mike Campbell , keyboardist Benmont Tench , drummer Stan Lynch and bassist Ron Blair .

Jul 2, 2018 · The classic logo is back! In 1976, Jay Vigon designed an airbrushed logo for the cover of the self-titled debut of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. It was one of the first projects by his new studio, and they knocked it out of the park!
He was the leader of the rock bands Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Mudcrutch and a member of the late 1980s supergroup the Traveling Wilburys. He was also a successful solo artist. Over the course of his career, Petty sold more than 80 million albums.
