Dec 13, 2022 · The link in the comments downloads a valid KML file, which works fine in Google Earth Pro (the desktop application). The file contains a single NetworkLink, which dynamically loads KML content from a service on the wikimapia.org servers, based on your current view window.
Jan 13, 2015 · Love the desktop..this app sucks. I can log in with my wikimapia account to this app to view my saved places, change the map type or view community supplied place names. These are the features that make Wikimapia superior. And we get none of them on this app. What a waste of time!
The Wikimapia layer is a collection of "objects" with a polygonal outline (like buildings, forests, or lakes) and "linear features" (streets, railroads, rivers, ferry). Streets are connected by intersection points to form a street grid. Both kinds of items may have textual descriptions and photos attached to them.
