Barker College is an independent Anglican co-educational early learning, primary and secondary day and boarding school, located in Hornsby, a North Shore suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Barker was founded in 1890 by Rev. Henry Plume at Kurrajong Heights.
Under Headmaster Trevor McCaskill, Barker College became the first independent school in Sydney to introduce a coeducational senior school. McCaskill’s vision at that time was to establish a senior school that prepared students for university and working life.
In 2023, Barker College was delighted to be named as a winner of the 5-Star Employer of Choice Award by The Educator, recognising the excellent experience the School provides for its employees to perform and feel valued. The School was also recognised as an Employer of Choice in the Australian Business Awards 2023.

Barker offers confirmed places to students applying to enter Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Year 3, Year 5 and Year 7 in strict order of date of application and subject to the School's priority list.
Under the banner of “Inspiring Tomorrow”, Barker continues to plan for its future to support the needs of students, staff and the surrounding local community. Barker is one of the few non-government coeducational schools in the North Shore of Sydney.
Through our Senior School House Program we foster strong bonds between student and teacher in which the students are treated as young adults. Heads of House work with students in the area of student wellbeing, as well as academic progress.
