Aaron D. Harberts (born 20 January 1973; age 51) is a writer and producer who served as executive producer on the first and part of the second season of Star Trek: Discovery.

Together with his writing partner Gretchen J. Berg, he took over as Discovery's showrunner in October 2016, after Bryan Fuller had stepped down from this function. He had previously collaborated with Fuller on Pushing Daisies and Wonderfalls (featuring William Sadler).

He and Berg were removed from the position five episodes into the production of the show's second season due to their abusive and hostile behavior towards their colleagues. They were replaced by Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise.

Harberts, who is from Waterloo, Iowa, and Berg have been writing partners since meeting at Northwestern University, where both were students. Berg started her line of work as executive story editor on Beverly Hills 90210 in 1999. He then became a writer and story editor on shows including Roswell (again featuring Sadler), John Doe, Pepper Dennis, North Shore, Women's Murder Club, Mercy (with Kate Mulgrew in a recurring role), Off the Map, GCB, Revenge, and most recently Reign. He also served as executive producer or supervising producer on many of those shows. He also worked on the TV movie The Deerings and the feature film Valentine in 2001.
