The Palamidi castle occupies a commanding position on Palamidi hill above the town of Nafplio. Seeing it from below it looks really impressive with its walls meandering the hill with strong fortifications, while from the fortress itself views of Nafplio and all over its gulf are breathtaking.

Apr 27, 2023 · Reviews. The castle is perched on a hill overlooking the town of Nafplio and the stunning views from the top are breathtaking. The climb up to the castle is a bit steep, but well worth it. Once inside, the castle is well preserved and has plenty of historical significance.

Apr 19, 2024 · Worth the travel. We stayed in Athens prior to a cruise. We hired a driver to visit Nafplio. This Fortress of Palamidi was fantastic. It overlooks the Bourtzi Castle and the water is beautiful. It was fun to tour the fortress. There was a small entrance fee but well worth it.
