  2. Apr 27, 2023 · Reviews. The castle is perched on a hill overlooking the town of Nafplio and the stunning views from the top are breathtaking. The climb up to the castle is a bit steep, but well worth it. Once inside, the castle is well preserved and has plenty of historical significance.

  6. Apr 19, 2024 · Worth the travel. We stayed in Athens prior to a cruise. We hired a driver to visit Nafplio. This Fortress of Palamidi was fantastic. It overlooks the Bourtzi Castle and the water is beautiful. It was fun to tour the fortress. There was a small entrance fee but well worth it.
