Louis I, Duke of Savoy, was born in 1413 and ruled from 1440 until his death in 1465. Louis I received the Shroud of Turin in 1452, and he failed to conquer the Duchy of Milan. He married Princess Anne of Cyprus in 1433 and had several children, including Amadeus IX, Duke of Savoy, Louis, King of Cyprus, and Charlotte, Queen of France. Louis I died in Lyon while returning from France.
