Sadly, the first formal BBC session is forever lost. On the 2nd of April 1965, The Who appeared on The Joe Loss Pop Show giving a live performance at the Playhouse Theatre in Northumberland Avenue. Their set that morning was "Heatwave," "I Can't Explain," "Please Please Please" and "Shout and Shimmy".
