James Montgomery Doohan (⫽ ˈ d uː ə n ⫽; March 3, 1920 – July 20, 2005) was a Canadian actor and author, best known for his role as Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in the television and film series Star Trek.
Montgomery Doohan (born 28 June 1959; age 65) is the eldest of the twin sons of James Doohan, the actor who played Montgomery Scott. Montgomery is his father's middle name, and it also became the first name of his father's character, Scotty.

Doohan, who was 85, passed at his home in Redmond, Washington, due to complications from pneumonia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
