Redbone (band) Redbone is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1969 by brothers Pat and Lolly Vegas. All members during their commercial peak and success were of Mexican American and Native American heritage, which was heavily reflected in their songs, stage costumes, and album art.
Red Lake Reservation is owned and occupied entirely by members of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians — the only such reservation in Minnesota. The Tribe has resisted joining other Minnesota tribes as was the case in 1934, when Red Lake was encouraged to join six other Chippewa Bands under the Indian Reorganization Act.

The Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians have long depended on the fish that live in Red Lake, the sixth largest body of freshwater in the United States. Both the waters and walleye of the lake are central to the Red Lake Band people, its history, economy, and culture.
Red Cliff emerges out of series of treaties between the United States and the Lake Superior Chippewa. The most relevant treaties include the 1835 Treaty at Prairie du Chien, the 1837 Treaty at St. Peters, and the 1842 Miners Treaty and 1854 LaPointe Treaty on Madeline Island. The latter treaty established the current reservations.
