There's Always Vanilla (also known as The Affair) is a 1971 romantic comedy film directed by George A. Romero and starring Raymond Laine, Judith Ridley, Roger McGovern, and Johanna Lawrence. It was Romero's second motion picture and his only romantic comedy.

Every morning, Chris awakens to the sound of a radio talk show hosted by Lynn's father. When Lynn tries coaxing Chris into deciding his future, he evades her with flippant jokes. Lynn tells her divorced mother that, tiring of the shallowness of doing commercials, she thinks that she wants to be a wife and mother.

There's Always Vanilla is one of Romero's few non-horror films. It's a rom-com-drama of sorts. The budget is clearly tiny, but the style is relatively fresh. It has a certain indie charm to it, filled with the occasional nod to politics (Vietnam) and philosophical post-hippie discussions.
