  2. All Washington, D.C.–area museums and the American Indian Museum in New York are open every day of the year except December 25. The Cooper Hewitt in New York is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Four locations require entry tickets or passes as noted below.

While advance reservations are recommended for this iconic DC attraction, same-day passes are available at Information Desks on the lower level of the Capitol Visitor Center, although availability can become limited during spring, summer and the holiday season.
